Why Padel Construction Is Different to Traditional Sports Builds

December 23, 2025 • Padel Construction

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, but constructing a padel facility is very different from delivering a traditional sports or leisure build.

Unlike standard gyms or five-a-side pitches, padel courts require precise structural tolerances, specialist glass systems, bespoke lighting layouts, and careful acoustic consideration — particularly in urban or mixed-use environments.

At Reluxe, our experience delivering padel centres across the UK has shown that early planning and technical coordination are critical. Ceiling heights, slab loadings, ventilation, and sound management all need to be addressed from the outset to avoid costly redesigns later in the project.

Padel venues are also increasingly expected to function as social destinations, not just sporting spaces. This means integrating bars, seating areas, changing facilities and retail zones into a cohesive layout that works operationally and commercially.

As the sport continues to grow, choosing a contractor with hands-on padel construction experience can make the difference between a smooth delivery and a compromised facility.
